Open 24/7 in Maeroa, The Pod is a private gym experience capped at just 4 members per hour. No queues, no chaos, no waiting for equipment. Just focused training in a fully-equipped fitness space built for real progress.
Every membership includes a personalised training programme, ongoing check-ins, and expert guidance tailored to your goals.

Our StoryThe Training Pod grew from a simple realisation: for some people, traditional gyms had begun to feel loud, crowded, and impersonal — creating a desire for a quieter space where connection and care come first.
Our founders, Ash & Vance Elliott, have spent 10+ years working in the fitness & commercial gym industry, seeing some people get lost in the shuffle of big-box facilities. During Ash’s 1st year of postpartum with their little boy, she realised that while people wanted professional-grade results, some were looking for a more private, low-key & supported environment. There was a missing middle ground between a garage workout and a busy commercial club.
The Training Pod is intentionally small by design. This allows us to focus on quality over quantity, thoughtful programming, and real relationships. Every session is guided, every space considered, and every client supported at their own pace.
Training here isn’t about pressure or proving anything. It’s about feeling good in your body and having a space that makes showing up easier. Whether you’re starting fresh, getting back into routine, or levelling up your training, The Training Pod gives you the space and support to do it properly.

Base
The perfect starting point for building a consistent, sustainable routine. With 2 hours of gym time per week — bookable as two flexible 1-hour sessions — you'll have the structure you need without the overwhelm. And you won't be doing it alone.
For $20 per week, your Base membership includes:
✔️ A goal-setting session with one of our team before you even sign up
✔️ A personalised 6-week program designed by a qualified personal trainer
✔️ A 2-week check-in — in person or over the phone — to review your technique, tweak your program, and make sure you're on track -

Build
For those ready to put in more time and see bigger results. With 3 hours of gym time per week — bookable as three flexible 1-hour sessions — you'll have the room to really push toward your goals.
For $30 per week, your Build membership includes:

✔️ A personalised 6-week program designed by a qualified personal trainer
✔️ A 2-week check-in — in person or over the phone — to review your technique, tweak your program, and make sure you're on track

We’re a small team with big ideas and a passion for doing things well.
At The Training Pod, our team combines evidence-based coaching with genuine care for the people we work with.
Katie, Hayden & Vance bring a broad range of qualifications across Nutrition & Sports Science, Sport & Exercise Science, Optimal Sports Nutrition, Pre & Post Natal Training, and NZ Certificate in Exercise (Level 4), alongside recognition through an Undergraduate Excellence in Research Award.
They’re responsible for delivering smart, supportive coaching that’s practical, personalised, and sustainable.

Ash is the founder of The Training Pod and runs the business and community side of the studio.
